UJ Cross Part Number Finder: Match Your Vehicle to the Right Cross

MOD PLUS poster showing three metal UJ cross joints on blue-white background with text Find the Right UJ Cross and Match Your Vehicle.

MOD Plus has supplied UJ crosses to India's commercial and agricultural vehicle aftermarket since 1978, and this page turns our full printed U.J. Cross catalog into one searchable table. Instead of paging through a PDF, look up your vehicle model — or match the cup diameter and cross length stamped on your old cross — and get the correct UJ cross part number in seconds.

Every entry below comes straight from MOD's official catalog and is used by workshops and fleet buyers across every Indian state to confirm a genuine UJ cross in India before ordering.

How to Use This Guide

There are two ways to use this table. If you know your vehicle model, scan the Application column within the relevant segment below and read off the part number, cup diameter, and cross length. If you're holding a worn cross with no visible part number, measure it instead: cup diameter is the width across one bearing cup, and cross length is the distance between the outer faces of two opposite arms.

Match both numbers against the UJ cross cup diameter and Cross Length columns — universal joint cross specifications are standardized enough that these two figures alone usually narrow you to one or two part numbers.

A Note on Greaseless vs. Standard Crosses

Several part numbers in this catalog exist in two versions of the same physical cross: a standard type with a grease nipple, and a GL (greaseless) type that's sealed and pre-lubricated for life.

4009P/4009GL, 4050GL, 4054GL, 4054CP/4054CPL, and 4054EP/4054EPL are examples — same cup diameter and cross length, same application, different maintenance profile.

A standard cross needs periodic greasing through its nipple and lets you monitor lubricant condition directly. A greaseless cross needs no scheduled greasing, which suits high-dust environments like agriculture, construction, and long-haul routes where maintenance access is limited — but it can't be re-lubricated once its internal seal wears out. Choose based on your maintenance routine and operating conditions, not price alone; the cup diameter and cross length lookup works identically for both types.

This page is built for fast lookup, not explanation. If you want to understand how a UJ cross works, what wear looks like, or how to fit one correctly, read What Is a UJ Cross, and How Do You Replace It?.

FAQ

How do I measure a UJ cross's cup diameter and cross length?

Cup diameter is the outer width of one bearing cup, measured with calipers across its widest point. Cross length is measured between the outer faces of two opposite cups, corner to corner across the arm. Take both measurements on the cross itself, not the yoke it sits in.

What if my vehicle model isn't listed in this table?

This table covers MOD's current U.J. Cross catalog range. If your model isn't listed, measure your old cross's cup diameter and cross length and match those two numbers against the table instead — many part numbers cover more vehicle models than are printed on the label. If nothing matches, contact MOD directly with your measurements.

What's the difference between a greaseless (GL) and standard UJ cross?

A standard cross has a grease nipple and needs periodic greasing. A greaseless (GL) cross is sealed and pre-lubricated for life, needing no scheduled maintenance but no re-lubrication either once its internal seal wears. See the greaseless vs. standard section above for details.

Can two different part numbers share the same cup diameter and cross length?

Yes. Cup diameter and cross length narrow the field but don't guarantee a single match — spline count, lock type (inner or outer), and yoke fitment also matter. Where two applications share dimensions, cross-check the vehicle model in the Application column too.

What do "N/M" and "O/M" mean in the application column?

These are catalog shorthand for New Model and Old Model — the same vehicle name sold under two different generations of driveline components. Confirm which generation your vehicle is before ordering.

Is a MOD part number the same as the vehicle manufacturer's OEM part number?

No. MOD part numbers are MOD's own catalog references for OEM-grade aftermarket parts — they identify the part within MOD's numbering system, not the vehicle manufacturer's part number. Use the Application, Cup Dia, and Cross Length columns to confirm fitment.
