A half yoke in the Mahindra Maximo driveline is a critical propeller shaft / universal joint component that forms part of the vehicle’s torque‑transmitting system between the gearbox and rear axle.
What It Is:
A half yoke is one half of a pair of yokes in a universal joint (U‑joint) assembly on the propeller/drive shaft.
It typically attaches to one side of the driveshaft and provides the mounting surface for two bearing caps of the universal joint cross (spider). The universal joint then connects this yoke to a companion yoke.
Function:
