Half Yoke – Tata Ace Super — Description

The half yoke is one half of the yoke pair in a universal joint assembly. On the Tata Ace Super driveline, the half yoke connects to the propeller shaft or a companion flange and receives the universal joint cross.
Function:
It supports two bearing caps of the universal joint cross at one end.
It is typically forged steel, designed to handle continuous torque and the stresses of a light commercial vehicle.
Works together with its mating yoke and cross to create a flexible but strong connection between drivetrain components.
How These Two Work Together
In the propeller shaft univeral joint:
The cross (27×81.80) fits between two yokes (one of which is the half yoke)
Each arm of the cross holds a bearing cup that seats in a yoke’s fork.
As the shaft rotates and angles change, the cross pivots in the yokes, allowing smooth rotation and torque transfer while absorbing vibration and misalignment.
